About Neela for Practices
We are building the layer of care that lives between your appointments.
Because that is where modern patient is won.
Neela for Practices is the white-label AI care companion built for independent medical practices. We exist to give physicians back their first opinion and to make sure their guidance is the one their patients are still hearing at 11pm on a Saturday.
The problem we exist to solve
The exam room is no longer the whole game.
For most of modern medicine, the 15 minutes in the exam room was the whole job. The physician examined, decided, instructed. The patient went home. Everything in between visits was, structurally, on the patient.
That model is broken. Patients forget 40 to 80% of what was said in the consult. They get home, they get scared at 2am, and they reach for whatever is closest. Increasingly, that is ChatGPT, not the practice that saw them yesterday. 85% of doctors now see more AI-informed patients than a year ago. 83% have had to correct AI misinformation mid-visit. The first five minutes of every appointment are spent unwinding what an algorithm told the patient the night before.
The exam room is still the part you do best. But it is no longer the whole job. The space between appointments is where the modern patient lives, and right now, no one is in it with them. That is the layer Neela was built to fill.
Our point of view
A few things we hold strongly.
The beliefs that shape every decision about the product, the customers we serve, and the lines we will not cross.
Belief 1
The space between visits is now the most important part of care.
The 15-minute appointment is no longer the whole job. The 30 days after surgery is where call volume, bad reviews, and malpractice exposure live. The 12 months of pregnancy is where anxiety peaks and partners get left behind. The lifetime of chronic disease is where adherence collapses. The exam room is still the surgeon's, the obstetrician's, the pediatrician's, the family physician's. The space between is no one's. That is what we are changing.
Belief 2
Generic AI is the problem. Grounded AI is the answer.
ChatGPT in your patient's hand is not a tool you can compete with by giving them more pamphlets. The only way to win that conversation is to be in it, with answers grounded in your protocols, your patient's history, and what you actually told them last time. We are not a generic chatbot, and we built Neela to never become one.
Belief 3
The family unit is the patient.
Pregnancy is not a solo journey. Surgery recovery is not a solo journey. Managing diabetes at 78 with three medications and an adult child trying to help is not a solo journey. The current healthcare infrastructure has no model for the family. We built Neela so the partner, the spouse, the adult child, and the caregiver can stay aligned with the guidance the physician gave.
Belief 4
The trust belongs to the doctor. So should the power.
Patients trust the person who cares for them, not the technology in the room. As AI moves into healthcare, that trust is the thing most at risk of being handed off to something generic. We are built to keep it where it belongs. The doctor holds the relationship, and Neela makes sure the doctor keeps the power to act on it.
Where we draw the line
A few things Neela will never be.
Neela will never give a patient a medical diagnosis.
Every response is grounded in the physician's care plan, the practice's protocols, and the patient's actual history. We reinforce. We escalate. We do not diagnose.
Neela will never replace the physician.
We support the patient with what the physician already decided. The relationship between the patient and their doctor is the thing we are protecting, not the thing we are disrupting.
Neela will never train on your patient data.
Your patients' conversations are not training material. They are protected health information, treated the way we would want our own families' health information treated.
Neela will never become a generic chatbot.
The whole point of the product is that it knows your patient and your practice. The day Neela becomes interchangeable with ChatGPT is the day Neela stops being useful.
The infrastructure
Built on the security and compliance practice owners require.
Neela is HIPAA compliant. We sign BAAs to every practice. Patient data is encrypted. We never use patient data to train our AI.
Neela Cares
Neela for Practices is one product. The mission is bigger.
Neela for Practices is built by Neela Cares, a company on a mission to make modern care work for the families inside it. Our consumer product, Neela, supports family caregivers navigating illness, surgery, pregnancy, aging, and everything in between. Neela for Practices brings that same care companion into the medical practices serving those families.
The relationship is simple. The physician knows the patient. The family lives with the patient. Neela makes sure both stay aligned with the same guidance, on the same plan, at the same time. One company. Two products. One mission.
